Moving Yoga is the project of Emily Long, a budding Melbourne-based yoga instructor.

Emily's interest in yoga arose from a desire to calm the mind and develop greater awareness of mind and
body. Breath is a central theme in all classes; it is a thread that carries us through each part of every day and offers us a way of connecting in with ourselves and the world around us.

Yoga practice offers us a way to develop flexibility, strength and stability in an integrated manner that moves in time with our bodies.  For Emily, yoga isn't first and foremost about strength and flexibility.  However, through spending time developing the physical practices we can learn ways to exist more calmly, peacefully and fully.

Yoga is primarily what you, the practitioner, makes of it.  Yoga happens at your edge, in your time, and at your pace.  Classes can be adapted and developed to suit your interests and needs.

Emily completed a Diploma of Yoga Teaching in 2012 and a Graduate Certificate: The Yoga of Birth, Teaching Prenatal Yoga in 2013.  Emily continues to attend yoga classes and retreats as a student around and outside of Melbourne; the learning never ends.
